Independence Park

Mixed Media/Welded Metal (Car Parts)

12” x12”x18”

Sculpture Birth Description:

I am fascinated with the artwork of the “Atomic” Period in American History and with aspirations of living in Orbit City from the cartoon “The Jetsons”. Because of this fascination, I created my vision of a Future City. This Sculpture sprang from my head and hands around the same time as Glenn Beck was talking about his version of Walt Disney’s Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, which he wants to call “Independence Park”.

Utopias and Dystopias are two sides on the razor’s edge; one slip and were all screwed. But, you have to admit, it would be super-fun to have a flying car;)

Bio:

Born in Colorado, raised in Florida…a genuine Conservative Hippie.  Happily married with two teenage sons, one Rottweiller, one Pitmix, one Dachsuhund, and an irritating cat.

I love to work with my hands and I love to be messy. There is no such thing as time when I am in my barn welding away.

What a wonderful life to lead. I am truly blessed.

Yours Truly,

Tonkabell

Cheryl – Besides being a pro-constitution artist, I’m a diehard car nut and have always wondered how my race car’s worn-out parts might be artistically reused. Independence Park is quite wonderful on so many different levels!
