Butterflies

Butterflies

“Butterflies” is a combination of glass experiments along with structure and anatomy. These lovelies are identified as Monarch and Tiger-swallowtail butterflies along with Luna and Cecropia moths. All are mounted on a piece of split pecky cypress wood, native to Florida’s beautiful swamplands in the Everglades. Three of the four contain over 100 pieces (a real important point to the stained glass folk) and they are assembled with an underbody exoskeleton. I’m currently experimenting with different species for upcoming projects. These are made from glass scraps that were remnants of other completed pieces. The point? Who doesn’t like butterflies?!
